Network Security Specialist – Leeds hybrid - £45,000 - £55,000 + Great benefits
Locke & McCloud are looking for an experienced Network Security Specialist to join our client. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to work on a diverse range of projects and get their hands stuck into multiple different pots at once! You will be able to stay technically hands-on whilst working in an organisation that is centred around progression and excellence!
Main Responsibilities:
Implement and manage network security solutions using Juniper, CheckPoint, PaloAlto, and Fortinet technologies to safeguard our clients digital assets and infrastructure.
Continuously monitor network traffic, security logs, and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents promptly.
Configure and optimize firewall policies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other security devices to maintain a strong defense posture.
Play a key role in incident response activities, including the investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses proactively.
Develop and enforce network security policies and standards in alignment with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
Promote security awareness among staff through training programs and the dissemination of security best practices.
Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, incidents, and procedures for future reference and auditing purposes.
Collaborate with security solution vendors to stay updated on the latest threat intelligence and product updates.
To be considered for this role, you should have:
Hands-on experience in network engineering or network security.
Experience working with Juniper, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, or Fortinet technologies.
Proficiency in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting network security devices.
Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, routing, and firewall concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think like a hacker to anticipate and counteract cyber threats.
